Day 1

This excursion begin with a transfer from your hotel at 5 am from Kilifi Hotels and 6 am from Mombasa Hotels and driven south towards Tanzania to Wasini, from here you will board a motorized dhow to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park in Wasini Island.

Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park is one of the best marine reserves in Kenya. The park covers 28 sq km of pristine coral reefs and offers excellent diving and snorkeling. You have a reasonable chance of seeing dolphins in the Shimoni Channel and humpback whales are sometimes spotted between August and October. The dhow trip normally includes lunch made of Swahili dishes, ie coconut rice, fish, beef, and chicken for those not eating the sea foods, and a walk in the coral gardens on Wasini Island to see the local people who are now almost 2000 as initially were only one couple during the slave Arab rule. Our guide will take you to the  Famous Slave  Cave where slaves used to be hidden and transferred at night to Zanzibar and South America  The price includes snorkeling equipment, soft drinks, a Swahili seafood lunch. Slave  Cave viewing fees and the marine park fees. On many occasions, curious dolphins join guests and play on the surface, swimming with them underwater. Slow-moving turtles can be seen under and over the reefs. The sandy bottom is home to many different rays and spotty moray eels look out from their daytime homes within the reefs therein. At the same time, deep crevasses hide giant grouper, and giant coral heads standing out from the reef wall are covered with myriads of colorful yellow fish. If you are an experienced snorkeler or diver, you can be dropped off to do a drift snorkel back to the moored.
